"Home is where the heart is..." At least that's how Danielle feels after being back in Dayton since 2008. The seven years prior Danielle spent attending The University of Tennessee and working at stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. She says she is enjoying all that Dayton has to offer in a whole new way- All grown up! Although she will always remain loyal to her Tennessee Volunteers, she says that she has enjoyed watching OSU and UD games with friends, going to Red's games, and putting her Bengal's jersey on once again! If you were looking for Danielle, you would probably catch her at a Reds game, the bookstore, or just hanging out with her dogs! To catch Danielle on air, tune in to FLY 92.9!!!

High school golfer Caroline Ingles was set to make history but lost over a scorecard error! THIS IS CLOSE TO THE DUMBEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD. Not dumb on her part, dumb on the part of the OSAA! RIDICULOUS! The dumbest part of it all is that she signed her scorecard with a higher score than she would have had! She actually was one stroke better than the card she signed! For that reason she lost.... Check out the full story here.

The new Time cover shows 26 year old Jamie Lynn Grumet breast feeding her 3 year old son. WOW. I'm not sure that CRINGE is even the right word. The article is about attachment parenting and how it drives mothers to extremes... Just in time for Mother's Day!

I love surprising someone with unique gifts. It lets them know that I REALLY thought about them. Every year I try to do something a little different than the norm for my mom on Mother's Day. Here are some extra special, unique ways to surprise the special mom in your life... If you have ideas please add to the list!
Weather Permitting:
TAKE HER ON A PICNIC : Pack up the kids and her favorite foods and go somewhere special. It could even be your backyard!
PLANT FLOWERS : If she loves her garden help her out by doing all the hard work for her.
Not the Outdoor Type?
MAKE A BASKET : Pick out a variety of her favorite things and hand make a custom basket just for her.
PERSONALIZE IT : Get something embroidered or engraved that she uses. Example: Get her an embroidered bag that she can use for groceries or take to the pool.
MAKE SOMETHING SPECIAL : Make her a photo calander or collage. Make homemade coupons she can use anytime she needs a break. Have the kids paint pictures of how they feel about mom and frame them!
WRITE A PERSONALIZED NOTE: Instead of a card that basically says what you're thinking, write down exactly what you want to say in a personal hand written note!

So, I'm at Walmart yesterday and wow was everyone in full crazy form... Sometimes I look at people and I think, what part of you looked in the mirror this morning and thought "Oh yeah, I look good." I didn't take these photos but they are exactly what I'm talking about....Pretty close to what I saw yesterday. WOW. I don't even know what else to say. LOL!

Julia Bluhm is a typical eighth grade girl from Waterville, Maine, or so you would think. Julia, 14, is also an activist to be proud of! Today she is outside the offices of Seventeen Magazine protesting the way the media warps girl's self esteem. Recently she launched a petition to ask Seventeen Magazine to include one un-retouched photo shoot a month. That petition now has over 24,000 signatures! Good for her! After the awful Ugly Meter blog yesterday that angered me so much Julia is a breath of fresh air! YOU GET MY SIGNATURE JULIA!

Have you heard about this iPhone app that measures how UGLY you are?
Apparently the "UGLY METER" surfaced last year after raising concerns among anti-cyber bullying organizations. Well now it is about to take the top spot on Apple's App Store. Guess who made it famous... HOWARD STERN. Wow. Because of him the App has already generated over $500,000! This is exactly what the self conscience youth of America need. (Who am I kidding, it's not exactly what we adults need either!) Why aren't more people upset by this? I think that what many individuals, including famous ones like Michelle Obama, are doing by raising awareness about health in the US is fantastic, but what about this? Doesn't this fall in that category? How about the mental health of the kids? How about the mental health of us adults! Where are the advocates?
As you can see this bothers me a little bit... LOL!
